The WODC is responsible for the maintenance of over 50 miles of hiking trails in the White Mountain National Forest. Most of our trails are within the Sandwich Range Wilderness area, and offer opportunities for solitude not available in more heavily used parts of the Forest. We are seeking applicants who appreciate this environment and will help us to protect it. Although the WODC is primarily a volunteer organization, we currently have a backlog of trail work that requires the hiring of a summer trail crew. We are currently seeking applicants for the 1998 summer season. We plan to field two separate crews as detailed below. This is an unique opportunity to work with one of the oldest trail maintenance organizations in the White Mountains.
You may apply for one or both crews depending on your interests and experience. We also expect to operate a longer program next year, and will invite successful crew members to return.
