Lawrence Grant

WODC has received a $7300 matching grant from the National Forest Foundation to help fund the relocation of a portion of the Lawrence Trail. These funds can be used to cover related expenses from June 1, 2006 to May 31, 2007. Volunteers from the Student Conservation Association, a US Forest Service trail crew leader, and numerous WODC volunteers were able to complete the relocation work this summer.

WODC is in the process of obtaining the required matching funds. When a substantial amount of the $7300 matching funds have been raised we will then be in a position to apply for reimbursement form the National Forest Foundation.

Thanks in advance to the National Forest Foundation (www.natlforests.org) for helping to make this summerís work possible. NFF has suggested our members might be interested in browsing information from the Friends of the Forest at www.becomeafriend.org).
